Split PDF
Break a PDF apart — either into one file per page, or by pulling out only the pages you name into a single new document. Your original file is never altered: the tool produces new PDFs for you to download and leaves the source exactly as it was on your device.

How to split a PDF
- Select the PDF you want to split.
- Choose “every page separately”, or type the pages you want to keep.
- Download the result — one file, or every page individually.
When you'd use this
- Sending one section — A colleague needs chapter three, not the whole ninety-page report.
- Extracting a single certificate — Pulling one page out of a combined scan of several documents.
- Selective uploads — A portal that asks only for specific pages of a longer file.
- Untangling a bulk scan — A scanner saved twenty separate documents as one continuous PDF.
Good to know
- Two ways to split — Every page separately turns a 10-page PDF into 10 single-page files. Only the pages I choose gathers the pages you list into one new PDF.
- Count pages as the PDF shows them — Page positions start at 1 and follow the file itself — not the page numbers printed in the document, which often start later.
- Quality is completely untouched — Pages are copied across without re-encoding, so nothing softens or shifts.
- Your original is safe — Splitting creates new files. The PDF you selected is neither modified nor deleted.
Frequently asked questions
Can I extract just a few pages instead of every page?
Yes — choose “Only the pages I choose” and type something like 1-3, 5, 8-10.
What happens if I type a page that doesn't exist?
You'll get a clear message telling you how many pages the PDF actually has, instead of a silent failure.
How do I write the page range?
List what you want in the range box — for example 1-3, 7, 12-15. Single pages and ranges can be mixed, separated by commas.
What do I get when I split every page?
Each page is produced as its own separate PDF, so you can keep only the ones you actually need and discard the rest.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
No. A PDF locked with an open password must be unlocked in the application that created it first — no browser tool can bypass PDF encryption, and one that claimed to would be misleading you.
