Word to PDF
Convert a Word document (.docx) into a PDF that looks the same wherever it is opened. PDF is what most employers, universities and portals actually ask for, because it cannot be accidentally reflowed or edited along the way. The conversion happens inside your browser, so a private document never leaves your device.

How to convert Word to PDF
- Select or drag in your .docx file.
- AllToolsHub lays out the pages and builds a real PDF.
- Download the finished PDF.
When you'd use this
- Job applications — Employers almost always ask for a CV in PDF form rather than as a Word file.
- University submissions — Most assignment portals require PDF and reject .docx outright.
- Final documents — Sending a letter, quote or report that should not be edited after it leaves you.
- Reliable printing — A PDF prints the same way from any computer, whatever fonts that computer happens to have.
Good to know
- Modern .docx files only — Word files from the last decade and a half work. The older .doc format needs saving as .docx first — Word, Google Docs and LibreOffice all do this in one step.
- Formatting is simplified on purpose — Text, headings, bold, italics, lists and paragraph alignment carry across. Intricate layouts, text boxes, headers and footers may shift or be dropped.
- Unusual fonts get substituted — A font your document uses but the converter does not have is replaced with the closest standard equivalent.
- Check the result before sending — Open the PDF and compare it against the original whenever the document matters.
Frequently asked questions
Why do some characters show as “?” in the result?
The built-in PDF fonts only cover Latin-script characters, so Devanagari and some other non-Latin scripts can't be drawn directly. The result panel offers a print-view link — choosing “Save as PDF” there keeps every character correctly.
Does it keep images from my Word document?
Images are dropped and styling is simplified. The tool focuses on getting your text, headings and lists into a clean PDF.
Are the images in my document included?
Pictures embedded in the .docx are carried across where possible, but complex positioning — text wrapping tightly around an image, for instance — may not survive exactly as laid out.
Why does the PDF look different from my Word file?
The conversion rebuilds the document from its content rather than replaying Word's own layout engine, so elaborate formatting can move. Straightforward documents such as letters and CVs usually come out very close to the original.
Can I convert a .doc file or a Google Doc?
Not directly. Open it in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice and save or download it as .docx first, then convert that file here.
